Samantha:

My graphic design students use a wiki to do what you're attempting. I teach at a technical career center and every student in our school is required to create a career portfolio. We made a sample e-portfolio for our students to base theirs on, it can be found here:
http://pickeringportfolio.wetpaint.com/
I hope this helps.

Hello Samantha

I manage an E-portfolios Project in Australia and recently wrote a blog post called "Which e-portfolio tool should I use", which you might like to check out:

http://www.flexiblelearning.net.au/e-portfoliosblog/?p=17

The one a lot of individuals are looking at is Skillsbook - as it's a self-registering site, which allows you to develop your e-portfolio, and lets you pubically publish the parts you choose.

http://www.skillsbook.com.au

I also bookmark a lot of e-portfolio/digital portfolio sites at:

http://delicious.com/imillera/e-portfolios

Please let me know what you think, and/or if you discover any other sites worth recommending to others.

My students use wikispaces to make their digital portfolios. Really cool applications can be http://issuu.com/ an online magazine program or http://www.scribd.com/. Both offer embeddable options to place a portfolio at a blog or wiki.

If I was to make a portfolio of my experience at University I would try to use as many tools as I could to showcase my talents. Each part of the portfolio using a different tool. Hmm Then a wiki would be great as a host site and your work can be done using all the different tools that you have used.

Look at http://sp08eportfolios.wikispaces.com/ to see. some student examples
